Winter Park, home to Rollins College and the Morse Museum, has a small-town appeal that its residents love to call home. If you are looking for sophistication, great schools, charming streets, and a neighborly community then Winter Park may be for you. You will find Mediterranean-style homes with red barrel-tile roofs, Craftsman-style homes, mid-century modern ranch homes from the 1950s, contemporary designs, and huge mansions nestled along the streets and Winter Park chain of lakes.
Park Avenue is the heart and soul of Winter Park with its brick-lined streets, sprawling trees, alfresco dining, bistros, upscale specialty shops, and longstanding boutiques. Central Park is a velvety green lawn located on Park Avenue and is the host of numerous events and activities throughout the year.
The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is one of my yearly favorite things to do and happens to be one of the nation’s oldest, largest, and most prestigious outdoor art festivals. Another must is the Winter Park Boat Tour which offers an hour-long, guided cruise on a pontoon through three of the seven Winter Park Chain of Lakes and two, narrow man-made canals where you will have the opportunity to view many of the exquisite estates that line the shores.
